In late January 2014, a two day workshop "Supply Chain Leadership Initiative Design" was conducted by US-AID/Deliver Project and the System for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) to explore the impact of leadership in optimizing supply chain performance. The workshop offered an opportunity to address an aspect of supply chain management, its leadership, which is not often addressed in professional development of supply chain professionals. Let s start by addressing the key focus of our topic-leaders and leadership. "Supply chain leaders today are at the cusp of having to oversee all aspects of the business of their organizations-from internal capacities and capabilities to external supply chain operations-and understanding how these serve evolving business models.
