A decade ago, Smiths Detection began transforming the chemical detection landscape. With their longstanding history of success and experience in chemical detection and identification, Smiths Detection was asked to nearly do the impossible and transform a heavier hatbox-sized chemical detector into a small personal device.rnIntended to add an additional layer of protection to troops from chemical threats, the now industry-standard Lightweight Chemical Detector (LCD) was bom from an expressed warfighter need combined with unrivalled engineering excellence.
