Modernisation of its armed forces is very much on the agenda for the Polish Ministry of National Defence (MoND), and has included the improvement and development of weaponry and the reorganisation of military units. According to the MoND, the modernisation of the Polish Armed Forces (PAF) is based on Polish ideologies, and has seen the change from conscripted troops prolific in the 90s to a professional career path in the 21st Century. The reforming of approximately 500 units within the land forces has enabled the military to tighten its focus and improve its capabilities.
