Being a popular icon is not always about being the most admired. The most admired as well as the most hated, Bill Gates evokes extreme emotions among the Indian developer community—an enviable position to be in. Maybe Linus Torvalds, and India's very own Azim Premji have a lesson or two to learn. The average Indian developer's aspirations are on the rise; he/she connects to the Internet while traveling but is still far from being the gadget person.
