Guwahati Municipal Corporation Launches e-Payment Facility for Property Taxes

Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has launched e-payment facility for property tax, which is a prime source of revenue for the corporation. This will help the corporation to collect taxes online and will help citizens to pay tax without the need to go to their office manually. At present, there are 176,099 holdings under the corporation as it collects a total property tax of around €27 crore. GMC collects around €25 crore from these properties at its zonal office as well as through tax collectors going from house to house.
