Within the Ara Pads museum complex, designed by the US architect Richard Meier, the hall that houses one of the most significant monuments to the Roman era is totally flooded with light. The transparency of the facades along Via di Ripetta and Lungotevere is achieved by means of a full height glass wall, and light enters from above by means of a system of skylights on the roof, supported by a complex steel structure.%All'interno del complesso museale dell'Ara Pacis, progettato dall'architetto statunitense Richard Meier, la sala che custodisce uno tra i più significativi monumenti della romanità è caratterizzata da una totale permeabilità alla luce. In corrispondenza dei fronti lungo via di Ripetta e Lungotevere la trasparenza è ottenuta con un vetrata a tutta altezza, mentre un sistema di lucernari realizzati in copertura, grazie a una articolata struttura di acciaio, garantisce l'illuminazione zenitale.
