On December 2, the year 2010 will see the centenary of Anatolii Alekseevich Dorodnitsyn. A. A. Dorodnitsyn was an outstanding Soviet scientist who made a fundamental contribution to various domains of science such as computational mathematics, informatics, gas dynamics, wing aerodynamics, boundary layer theory, hydrodynamics, and the theory of nonlinear oscillations. One of the highest achievements of the scientist became the integrated study of supersonic gas flows and creation of numerical methods for their calculation.
