摘要

This work investigates the synergistic corrosion effects of monoethanolamine (MEA), NO3- and oxygen on A106 carbon steel in fresh and dirty MEA solutions during the carbon dioxide (CO2) capture process. Results showed that the presence of NO3- caused a higher corrosion rate at the initial stage, but had a minimal effect on the corrosion rate afterwards. A106 steel had a much lower corrosion rate in the dirty solution than that in fresh solution, which was most likely resulted from the adsorption of MEA degradation products on the steel surface in dirty MEA solutions.
