Details Planning is under way on Betsi Caclwaladr University Health Board's£100m modernisation scheme for facilities at Ysbyty Glan Clywd Hospital in Rhyl. The initial phase includes removing asbestos found in some operating theatres at the hospital in Bodelwyddan as well as refurbishing them. The scheme includes improvements to facilities and services in accident and emergency and critical care. A plan to reduce bed numbers is part of the modernisation scheme and has been approved. There are also plans to bring together services from a number of locations across the site, as well as ensure the hospital's fire and health and safety standards meet the latest regulations.
