The Olympic Stadium was the iconic centrepiece of the London Games in 2012, but since that memorable summer it has undergone a massive transformation to prepare for life in 'legacy mode'. The venue still hosts athletics events, but is occupied primarily by West Ham United FC and used for other sporting events that require spectators to be closer to the pitch. Because of this, the reconfigured stadium now includes retractable seats and - in the biggest change of all - a 45,000 sq m cantilever roof.
