West Midlands councils launch framework

A £2.lbn construction framework is open for tender for work with local councils in the West Midlands. The Constructing West Midlands 2 - Construction Framework is being procured by Solihull and Sandwell metropolitan borough councils and building consultant Acivico. It will run for an initial 48 months, with the option to extend by up to 24 months, and consists of two lots. Lot one is worth £600m and will cover eight contractors, which will deliver a wide range of projects valued at between £250,000 and £5m.The work will be varied, including infrastructure, schools, cultural spaces such as museums, housing, buildings for the healthcare sector and commercial buildings. Firms bidding for this lot should have an annual turnover above E10m.
