Cat to Expand Excavator Facility in Texas

Caterpillar plans to increase its manufacturing capabilities and capacity for excavators that will be built at a facility currently under construction in Victoria, Texas. Last August, Caterpillar said it would be investing about $130 million to open the 850,000-square-foot operation. The latest announcement includes plans for an additional $70 million investment that will include another 200,000 square feet under roof. This will not only increase excavator capacity beyond the original plans, but also will include the addition of selected fabrication manufacturing for excavator production.
