Cummins Unveils Electric Truck

Cummins has unveiled its Aeos electric truck, planned for production in 2019 and, with a 100-mile range, designed for local service. Construction is one of the potential duties, officials said. It has a 140 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack with quick-charge capability. A range extender using a small diesel or gasoline engine could enable a 300-mile range. Chassis and cab are from International. Cummins says electrified power trains are in trucking's near future.
