Komatsu Adds D155CX-8 Pipelayer to Lineup

The Komatsu D155CX-8 pipelayer is the first offered by the company to have a 170,000-pound rated lift capacity. With 12 feet 10 inches of track on ground, the D155CX-8 improves stability for pipeline work, says Komatsu, especially when working on adverse grades.The machine is offered with a standard 24-foot boom or optional 28-foot boom. Long and wide oval track undercarriage places the final drives and other heavy components lower to the ground for improved stability.The machine runs on a Komatsu Tier 4-F SAA6D140E-7 engine delivering 360 horsepower. It has a heavy-duty selective catalytic reduction system and a diesel exhaust fluid system. Paired with the diesel particulate filter, the systems reduce particulate matter and NOx while providing automatic regeneration. Auto idle shutdown helps reduce excessive idle time.
