Mack Army Tests Granites

Mack Defense is building five Granite-based heavy dump trucks (HDT) for testing by the U.S. Army. The Production Vehicle Testing is part of its $296 million contract for armored and armor-capable HDTs, named M917A3, according to the company. The 40-week durability testing will occur at the Army's Aberdeen Test Center this summer. "Our production team and suppliers are excited to begin building these next generation HDTs for the U.S. Army," said David Hartzell, president, in a prepared statement.
