Swiss retailers are losing ground to Euro bloc neighbours as the strong franc hits domestic sales. Nominal retail turnover has declined for 15 consecutive months, most recently by -2.4% (y-o-y) in March. Turnover in non-food sectors, which have faced deflationary pressures, dropped by 5.7% (y-o-y). Consumer prices have stayed below zero so far this year and fell by -0.4% (y-o-y) in April.
