The Riksbank's timetable for commencing monetary policy normalisation has been pushed back following the global turmoil inflicted by the UK Brexit vote. While the economy continues to expand robustly, illustrated by the latest GDP estimates of 3.5% and 2.4% in 2016 and 2017, respectively, the central bank warned in its July meeting that extremely loose monetary policy was still needed to assist GDP and raise inflation.
