摘要

The required lap lengths for reinforcing steel dimensioned according to DIN EN 1992-2/NA, the currently applicable standard for engineering structures pertaining to the traffic infrastructure in Germany, are the largest by far in international comparison, especially for small clear distances between the lapped bars (a < 8 Ø) and bar diameters Ø ≥ 16 mm. This holds true for countries such as Denmark and the Netherlands, but also for countries such as Switzerland and the United States of America. According to experts from these countries, no instances of damage have been reported as a result of the sometimes significantly shorter lap lengths.
