摘要

Concepts of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) are not new to enterprises, practitioners, and academia. Both ERP and SCM have matured to add value to business processes across various sectors. Though ERP and SCM can exist on their own islands of strengths and weaknesses, there is tremendous scope for their coexistence. The strengths of ERP and SCM lie in enforcing standards and best practices in an enterprise, ensuring process improvements, linking various agents and stakeholders in the forward and backward chains, enhancing transparency, and optimizing time and costs on transactions and coordination. Weaknesses in ERP and SCM are stressful, and if they are not addressed adequately, enterprises may run into losses in terms of return on investment, inadequate stakeholder engagements, efficiency, effectiveness, and human resource dissatisfaction.
