IBM Impact SOA, Las Vegas (April 7 to 10,2008)

What was the general theme of the show? As the name suggests, the scope of this year's annual Impact SOA conference was on service oriented architecture. During the keynote sessions and conference tracks IBM officials and partners focused mainly on the problems companies have had with so-calied stovepipe architectures, where one system, such as Web commerce, does not connect directly with another, such as accounting. IBM put lots of emphasis on its WebSphere line of software, announcing nevv products such as Business Events.
