Amazon has blamed social-media companies for fake reviews on its site, saying they don't do enough to stop them being sold on their services.In a statement headed 'Creating a trustworthy reviews experience' Amazon said that in the first three months of 2020 it reported to social-media sites more than 300 groups selling fake reviews, claiming they took a median time of 45 days to shut them down.Amazon acknowledged this has improved in the first three months of 2021, with the median time falling to five days. But it called for sites to invest in systems that spot fake reviews before Amazon feels forced to contact them.
