General haulage can be a competitive and crowded market, but West Midlands-based Stuart Law Transport has survived 25 years in business after finding its niche by putting customer service first. Starting out in May 1991 with a Ford Transit operated from his driveway, MD Stuart Law has gradually built up a 13-vehicle fleet and a strong customer base, delivering everything from biscuit crumbs to polystyrene cups. For Law, the decision to enter the haulage industry was a relatively easy one, and he had always known that he vanted to be his own boss. "My uncle had a transport company in the 1980s, and when I was a teenager it amazed me that the trucks went all over the country," he says.
