The COVIT-19 pandemic has been an eye opener to just about every organization and human affected because of its global impact. It has forced most organizations to think in terms critical elements necessary to human survival, such as food supply and medical facilities, which if shut down or inadequate would create a massive business discontinuity situation worldwide. Senior executives and the contingency planning and business continuity profession have a lot to ponder about their organizations' ability to cope during the pandemic shutdown period. There are many lessons to be learned from this massive global catastrophe. They must examine their present state of preparedness for future massive catastrophes.
