Application of ultraviolet protection finish by using syzygium aromaticum and mentha finishing on textile materials

In recent times, natural dyes are becoming a more important source of textile materials because they are considered environmentally friendly. However, pollution reduction is not the only concern, but is the main aspect that makes them interesting. Inherent properties of such natural dyes are antibacterial, sun protection, etc., can be added to the material dyed with them. In this work, we considered two different natural sources Syzygium aromaticum (clove) and Mentha (mint)for finishing on cotton and viscose fabric. An investigation has been made on the UV protection of those sources and the results show that UV protection on cotton and viscose fabric increases with an increase in concentration and, also it shows better protection on UV radiation.
