If there was anything clearly unlimited about the Buick Limited of the Thirties and Forties, it was its maker's eagerness to show that it truly belonged with the finest cars of the day This played out directly in Buick's advertising and promotional material for the car. One of the earliest ads for the Limited appeared in Life magazine in 1936. It pictured a four-door sedan with the tag line "first of the General Motors cars," a nod to the marque's role as the cornerstone of the corporation in 1908.
