Rick Caron truly can say he grew up in the yarn business. His grandfather started out as a rep for industrial yarns (he was called a "commission salesman" in those days), but was cut back on his supplies during WWI. When he couldn't get enough yarn for his customers, he opened his own mill in Rochelle, IL, launching Caron Spinning Co. in 1916.
