Mary Hess came to the home sewing industry by way of the accountant's office. The previous owner of B-Sew Inn was a client and this self-described non-sewer saw opportunity in selling Baby Lock, Elna and Simplicity sewing machines. Hess began running the business in 1992. At that time it consisted of two stores; one in Muskogee, OK and another in Tulsa.
