Seems we've run out of original ideas. The "original" movles released this summer (among them The Longest Yard, The Honeymooners, Herbie: Fully Loaded [The Love Bug], Bewitched, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Bad News Bears, The Pink Panther, The Dukes of Hazzard, Star Wars, Batman) are sequels, pre-quels or remakes. And how about Gumby? The little green fellow and his friends have their own art exhibit in NYC fifty years after they were a beloved television extended family for millions of kids (223 Gumby TV episodes). Now kids impatiently wait for Gumby video games and a DVD of the 1980s shows.
