POTENTIAL OF RENEWABLE ENERGY OUTLINED IN REPORT BY THE IPCC

Close to 80 percent of the world's energy supply could be met by renewable energy resources by mid-century, if backed by the right enabling pub-lic policies, concludes a new report by an expert group from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Data were contributed by over 120 researchers working with the IPCC, a United Nations sponsored group of 194 nations, to pro-duce the Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation.
