NEW FIAT 500E DELIVERS 116 MILES PER GALLON EQUIVALENT FROM ONE CHARGE

The Chrysler Group LLC unveiled its first retail battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Fiat 500e, at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November. The new hatchback features a fuel economy of 116 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in city driving and 100 MPGe on the highway. It also offers a driving range of more than 80 miles. The 500e minicompact, four passenger sedan will be assembled in Toluca, Mexico. U.S. sales of the BEV are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2013 in California.
