Textile Reinforced Concrete for Repair of a Balcony Panels made of Reinforced Concrete

Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) was used to retrofit of the facade of the 40 year old Arabella Building in Munich. Due to its geometrical flexibility, extraordinary properties regarding durability and its "easy-to-apply" feature, a thin layer of non-corrodible reinforcement made of Carbon embedded in fine-grained concrete matrix was chosen for the application. The damaged areas were wrapped by a "TRC-bandage" to ensure the user safety in the surrounding area of the building. The total thickness of the applied-layer is about 6 mm.
