Evolution of Fatigue Assessment of Seams' Repair, Part 2-Determination of the Fatigue Strength Classes

This article describes - as second from two parts - results from a research project about repair of welding. The repair was carried out by grinding the flawed seams and re-welding them. The second part encloses numerical analysis and evaluation of results to determine the fatigue strength classes according to three assessment procedures. The imperfections and misalignments were also taken into account. The conclusion from these investigations is that, the repaired welding seams have at least the fatigue life of the original ones.
