Back in February 2008, Halcrow was invited to bid for the feasibility study and preliminary design of three irrigation projects on the Blue Nile tributaries in Ethiopia. The client was the then Ethiopian Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) with funding provided by the World Bank. Various inputs were required, ranging from dam and irrigation design engineers, through to social scientists, economists, geologists, hydrologists, soil surveyors and geospatial engineers.
