Trois Femmes de Sapopemba: violence et politique dans la banlieue de São Paulo

Cet article s'appuie sur la narration des histoires de Valquíria, Maria et Marcela, trois femmes habitant les banlieues de São Paulo, pour penser la citoyenneté dans le Brésil contemporain. Le texte, basé dans une ethnographie menée entre 2005 et 2009, est organisé en trois parties. Dans la première, l'auteur justifie le choix des catégories d'analyse et discute brièvement les rapports entre politique et violence, qui donnent le contexte de l'argumentation. La deuxième partie décrit et discute les trois types de violence qui atteignent Marcela, Maria et Valquíria dans leurs trajectoires personnelles. Dans la troisième partie sont présentés les liens, radicalement distincts, de ces trois histoires avec le monde politique établi, en mettant en relation cette différence avec les expériences de la violence. This contribution relies on the narration of the stories of Valquíria, Maria and Marcela, three women living in São Paulo's suburbs, to explore citizenship in contemporary Brazil. Based on ethnographic research conducted between 2005 and 2009, the text is organised in three parts. In the first one, the author justifies his choice of analysis categories and briefly discusses relationships between politics and violence, so as to give the context of the discussion. The second part is dedicated to the description and discussion of the three types of violence that affect Marcela, Maria and Valquíria in their personal trajectories. In the third part the radically distinct connections between these three stories and the established political world are presented, linking this difference with experiences of violence.
