UK cinema conference faces the strategic challenges

Well over 100 delegates came to the Princess Anne Theatre in BAFTA for the fifth UK Cinema Industry Conference organised by Landor, and sponsored by Christie and Sound Associates. The event, which was remarkably upbeat, provided a good mix of stimulating presentations and plenty of audience feedback in the panel sessions, as well as the welcome opportunity to catch up with and talk to old friends in the business -'networking' as the PR people just love to describe it. This year's theme was'Facing the Industry Challenges', and provided the chance for speakers to consider Piracy and filmTheft,The effects of the inevitable arrival of Digital Cinema, and the ever-growing competition for the customer's leisure spending, which is subject to ever-wider choices.
