(The Ritz), and the Assembly Hall. All are owned and operated by Worthing Borough Council, who recently held an open day which attracted several hundred visitors. The Council also once owned the well known Dome Cinema, opened in 1911 as a roller skating rink and converted into a cinema in 1921. But by 1995 the fabric of the building was in such a state of disrepair and with worn out projection equipment that it was closed down and sold to a restoration group for the sum of £10! It is scheduled to reopen this summer after a £2m refit with Heritage lottery money.
