Observation on Effect of Treatment of Alcoholic Fatty Liver by Traditional Medical Therapy of Liver-Clearing, Dampness -Removing and Collaterals-Dredging

Spirits of wine is one of the pathogenetic fac- tors of liver damage which is merely secondary tv hepatitis virus. The incidence of fatty liver in Chi- nese adults is 5/100--9/100 now. It is reported that in- terleukin-8 (IL-8) and lipid peroxidation play an important role in development of alcoholic fatty liver and liver damage. The authors have ob- served the therapeutic effect in 30 patients of alco- holic fatty liver treated with Chinese herbal drugs for liver clearing, Dampness-removing and Collat- erals-dredging (abbre. as CHD) from Aug. 1999 to June 2001 and explored the relationship between the effects of treatment and some indices, inclu ding IL-8, malonyldialdehyde (MDA) anti super- oxide dismutase (SOD).
