How does the future look for cement?

Readymix AG welcomed expert visitors to its 3rd Environmental Conference in Beckum, Germany, on October 21, 2003. A total of 160 participants (Fig. 1), including representatives of industry, politics and the press, found themselves close to the Kollenbach and Mersmann cement plants. A diverse range of papers presented in the morning was thus also followed by viewing of blasting going on at the Kollenbach plant's quarry, and a visit to the plant itself.
