There was a considerable rush to the Kreidewerk Rugen chalk quarry (Fig. 1) in Klementelvitz, Germany, on May 12 and 13. No less than 250 visitors streamed to the Open Day held on Friday, May 12, and, most especially, to the fossil hunt the following day. All were extremely curious to find out more about the company and its work: "They simply questioned us almost to death!" said managing director Botho-Ekkehardt Hendel (Fig. 2), admitting, however, that he and his staff had great pleasure in supplying the answers.
