In addition to other activities, the Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials (AUCBM) organizes two alternating biennial conferences, the "Arab-International Cement Conference and Exhibition" and the Arab International Conference and Exhibition on "Environmental Protection in Cement & Building Materials Industries". In 2008, the 15th Arab International Cement Conference and Exhibition took place at the Cairo International Conference Center (CICC) in Cairo/Egypt (Fig. 1).rnAccording to the statistics, the conference and exhibition participants (Arab and international) amounted to around 900 delegates, with 537 from 201 Arab companies and 363 from 154 international companies.
