Modernization of Helwan Cement lines 1 and 2

In an extensive modernization project, the capacity of kiln lines 1 and 2 at Helwan Portland Cement Company was increased from 3 300 to 5 500 tpd of clinker. The conversion measures concerned the sectors of raw material pre-blending, raw grinding, preheater and kiln, while a new clinker cooler and a new burner system were installed. Apart from the desired increase in capacity, which has already been exceeded with the achieved clinker production rate of 5 600 to 5 700 tpd, the fuel and energy consumption figures were reduced, while simultaneously improving the emission situation in accordance with the local environmental regulations.
