Estructura y Composicion de una Comunidad con Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis (Senecl.) Barr. Y Golf., en el Estado de Qunintana Roo, Mexico

Pinus caribeaea var. hondurensis, a species naturally distributed in lowlands of Central Amer- ica, was recorded for Mexico in 1981 in the Caobas "ejido", Quintana Roo. The vegetation type is "selva baja" and savanna. Vegatation was sampled using a 5m × 120 m plot (600 m~2) where all individuals ≥1cm in DBH (diameter at breast height, 1.3m) were measured. Individuals smaller than 1 cm in DBH where sampled in two 5m×1m subplots (10m~2) within the large plot. Height and mortality were also recorded. Fifty-nine species belonging to 40 plant families were recorded.
