LONDON TRANSIT OPERATOR LAUNCHES NFC TRIAL

Transport for London, operator of the London Underground, has announced it is launching a small trial allowing passengers to get transit information on their mobile phones by tapping the phones on contactless chips embedded in posters. It's the first public trial for the large subway and bus operator using phones that support Near Field Communication. But TfL has conducted internal trials putting its popular fare-collection application Oyster on the contactless phones.
