Rebuilding Smarter, and for the Whole World

One of the key factors defining a smart community or smart city is the use of information technology to improve the way in which the people-the community-live their lives. In Japan, the emphasis on smart communities is largely on technology to facilitate energy management. Given that Japan is a resource-poor country, with virtually no fossil fuels and an energy policy that provides a lot of support for renewable energy sources, such a focus makes sense.
