It was pure coincidence. I had no idea when I booked my holiday in Jersey for the last fortnight in September, that this would also be the last two weeks of Jerseybus (Jersey Motor Transport of old), the exclusive local bus franchise operated by the Lewis family for over 30 years. That dynasty ended at midnight on Saturday 28 September (or more accurately at 00.20 on the Sunday when the last No. 15 rolled in from St Peter's Village), the franchise transferring to Connex to coincide with the start of the winter timetable. Connex's seven-year agreement is worth £1.5 million in the first year.
