Stagecoach sells US yellow schoolbus operation

Stagecoach has sold a profitable 700-vehicle yellow schoolbus business in the United States Midwest for $47million (￡30million) in a deal announced in November that will help it continue to expand Megabus.com coach services in North America. Wisconsin School Bus, part of Coach USA, had been in Stagecoach ownership since 1999. It has been sold to Student Transportation, the stock market- listed yellow schoolbus business founded in 1997 by Denis J. Gallagher, who was previously a senior executive with Laidlaw, the company subsequently acquired by FirstGroup.
