Seats are essential on route to the coast

In order to visit Scarborough last summer, I travelled on the Arriva 93 service from Middlesbrough. I caught the 09.50 departure. The bus was a Scania OmniCity, which was comfortable and had good performance but was totally inadequate size-wise. By the time it reached Guisborough there was a standing load and this remained the case all the way to Robin Hood's Bay (virtually one end of the North Yorkshire Moors to the other). This has almost invariably been the case each time I have used the service during the past few years. At Robin Hood's Bay, we passed a 93 in the opposite direction. Packed solid, it went straight past the first of two stops, leaving around 20 would-be passengers standing.
