As indicated in your September editorial comment, Nexus needs to prove that the proposed quality contracts for Tyne & Wear will deliver better service with lower fares and less cost. No easy task and, to be fair to Nexus, it does reveal that its previous proposal was found wanting. Details of this latest proposal run to 1,066 pages. I doubt whether any politician, never mind members of the public, will have the time or inclination to read all of this and make a detailed assessment. Instead they will probably rely on the claims in the 'executive summary' (18 pages) and publicity issued by Nexus.
