Scrapping cash fares could save TfL £24m

Cash fare collection could be abolished on the bus network if Transport for London implements plans put out to consultation. It says that at present fewer than 1 % of fares are paid in cash, and estimates that £24million a year would be saved if no cash was handled, money that would be reinvested in improving London's transport network.
