Glenn Saint plugs info electric vehicle opportunity

Optare's chief technical officer, Glenn Saint (pictured above), has left after 17 years to join Charge Engineering, a new venture developing range-extended electric drivelines for the automotive industry and backed by Russian and other investors. The Enstone, Oxfordshire-based company is focusing initially on opportunities in Russia and China, but Saint says Optare is a potential partner if it brings its products to Europe. He became a board director in January 2010 and in January 2013 took on the additional role of acting deputy chief executive officer. Ken Anderson (pictured below), who runs parent company Ashok Leyland's European technical centre in Warwickshire, has joined Optare as its interim head of engineering.
